- Moreover, although not only JNR Steam Locomotive C54 class and JNR Diesel Locomotive Type DD54 had been assigned but also the Limited Express 'Matsukaze (train)' had been operated since 1961, given that the Limited Express 'Hamakaze (train),' which had been newly started in 1972, was changed to a train with a stopover in Himeji for reasons related to the reduction in operating hours, it was far from functioning as a semi-main line.

- Private companies originally profit-oriented organizations, have been unable to make profit from single business and have been 'digging up' personnel necessary to continue operations from limited available staff including retired workers (however, Oigawa Railway Company or JR East is training their personnel), so it is feared that steam locomotives will disappear in near future from Japanese rails.
- In addition, with more people chasing disappearing steam locomotives, a steam locomotive boom took place across the country in the first half of the 1970s; a lot of fans began to come to good places for taking pictures of steam locomotives typified by the place between Mena Station and Kami-mena Station (now abolished) in the Hakodate trunk line and Nunohara Signal Station (now Nunohara Station) in the Kibi Line, and even some people who were not interested in railroads started chasing steam locomotives.

- I had so worked upon my imagination as really to believe that about the whole mansion and domain there hung an atmosphere peculiar to themselves and their immediate vicinity - an atmosphere which had no affinity with the air of heaven, but which had reeked up from the decayed trees, and the gray wall, and the silent tarn - a pestilent and mystic vapor, dull, sluggish, faintly discernible, and leaden-hued.

- In 1954 a JNR C62 steam locomotive ran on Kisogawa Bridge on the Tokaido trunk line at a speed of 129 km/h, which was 'a speed record of steam locomotives on the narrow gauge railroad,' however, this record was made in the process of a series of speed tests to see if an old-type truss bridge called a pin jointed truss could stand high-speed driving in the coming age of electric trains under an atypical situation that the tests were performed on the C62 steam locomotive alone from various limitations.
- The employer shall, when using electric apparatuses (meaning those other than wiring and movable electric cable among machines or instruments in which the electricity conducts such as a motor, transformer, cable connector, switch, distribution board or switch board and other equipment, the same shall apply hereinafter) at the place where it is liable that the concentration of the vapor of flammable substance or flammable gas becomes to explosion limit even if the measures set forth in Article 261 are taken, not use unless they are of explosion proof performance corresponding to the types of the said vapors or gases.
- JNR at that time was also performing speed tests at a speed of more than 120 km/h on electric trains and electric locomotives, but these tests were performed under conditions almost equal to those of commercial operation, and moreover, Kansai private railroad companies including the Hanwa Electric Railway and New Keihan Railway, which adopted the newest Western electric railroad technology, were known to have constantly been performing high speed driving at 120 km/h during the prewar period on their commercial trains (without filing, knowing that the Ministry of Railways would not permit speeds over maximum driving speed of JNR), which made it clear that the Japanese railroad technology, especially that of steam locomotive designing was lagging behind.
- The employer shall, as provided for by the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, endeavor to investigate the danger or harm, etc., due to buildings, facilities, raw materials, gases, vapors, dust, etc., and those arising from work actions and other duties, and to take necessary measures prevent dangers or health impairment to workers, in addition to taking the measures provided for by the provisions pursuant to this Act or the orders based on the results of the said investigations. However, in case of the investigation other than investigation to substances including chemicals, preparations containing chemicals and others, which are likely to bring about danger or health impairment to workers, this shall apply to the employer of the undertaking in the manufacturing industry or other industries provided for by the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
