- 伊達巻という名前の由来については、 伊達政宗の好物だったことから伊達巻と呼ばれるようになったという説 普通の卵焼きよりも味も見栄えも豪華なために、洒落て凝っている装いを意味する「伊達もの」から伊達巻と呼ぶようになったという説 女性用の和服に使われる伊達巻きに似ていることからこう呼ぶようになったという説など諸説ある。
