- The main cause may be that formal Wafuku is priced very high, dressing of Wafuku is quite complicated and troublesome, Wafuku is unsuitable for an active person and impractical, it is difficult to adjust to the temperature with Wafuku so that Wafuku is unsuitable for Modern Japan, especially during the summer season.
- However, in Okinawa, which was once under the rule of U.S. forces and has few wooden or steel-framed houses from the beginning due to its climate, the reinforced concrete collective housing is generally called 'apart' as well, and the term 'mansion' is mainly used to refer to the high-rise housings constructed in recent years by the capital of Japan's mainland.

- For example, according to the record of the observations in Mt. Kojin-dake near Nosegawa Village, it was -1.9 ℃ in January (4.6 ℃ in Kashihara City in the same month), 21.3 ℃ in August (27.7 ℃ in Kashihara), 9.7 ℃ on yearly average (1.56 ℃ in Kashihara); in Totsukawa which is warmer than the mountain, the maximum temperature in summer was about 25 ℃ and the minimum temperature in winter was below 10 ℃, therefore it is regarded as a cold or cool climate.

- Since a domain was formed by a wide variety of number of territories in accordance with climate and natural features, political culture, food culture, etc., a different food culture was born in each region in prefectures which were formed as a result of merging two or more domains such as Yamagata Prefecture, Iwate Prefecture, etc., except for Kagoshima Prefecture which was formed by one domain, Kagoshima Domain (this was because in a period when prefectural transportation facilities did not develop, many borders were set out according to natural landscape such as mountain ranges).
- On the other hand, biodiversity is facing serious crises, including extinction of species and destruction of ecosystems due to development and other activities by human beings, deterioration of satoyama (managed woodlands or grasslands near human settlements), etc. due to reduced human activities along with changes in socioeconomic conditions and disturbance of ecosystems, etc. by alien species, etc. In addition, climate changes, including global warming, which are recently rapidly advancing, have exceeded the speed at which species and ecosystem can adjust themselves, and are thus likely to have serious impacts, including extinction of many species. Therefore, it has become a major challenge, from the perspective of conservation of biodiversity, to make efforts to prevent global warming.
- In addition to what is provided in the preceding paragraph, NEDO shall participate in activities that will lead to the acquisition of emission reduction units as prescribed in Article 6, paragraph 3 of the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (hereinafter referred to as the 'Kyoto Protocol'); shall participate in the acquisition of certified emission reductions as prescribed in Article 12, paragraph 9 of the Kyoto Protocol; shall participate in emissions trading as prescribed in Article 17 of the Kyoto Protocol; and shall thereby aim to contribute to performance of the commitment based on Article 3 of the Kyoto Protocol, while avoiding any significant restrictions on Japan's energy use and industrial activities.
- In recognition of the serious impact of global warming on the environment of the entire planet, and the importance of efforts on the part of all humankind to actively and voluntarily address the universal issue of stabilizing greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at levels where human interference does not pose a danger to climate systems, the purpose of this Law is to promote global warming countermeasures by formulating a plan for attaining targets under the Kyoto Protocol and taking measures to promote the control of greenhouse gas emissions due to social, economic, and other activities, thereby contributing to the health and cultural life of the Japanese people, both now and in the future, as well as contributing to the wellbeing of all humankind.
