- その後、池田政詮を名代にたてて京都で活動したが藩主自らが先頭に立つ薩長相手に思うようにいかなかったので、慶政を隠居に追い込むこととしたが慶政の息子・池田鼎五郎は暗愚であるため権六郎と江見は一条忠香に相談に伺い、忠香は「水戸藩の池田茂政にせい」といったので上層部に九郎麿を養子にするようにと上申したという。
- Later, Gonrokuro was active in Kyoto with Akimasa IKEDA as the representative, but it did not work well against Satsuma and Choshu of which lord of the domain himself stood in the front, so it was decided to have Yoshimasa retire, but Gonrokuro and Emi visited Tadaka ICHIJO for consultation because Teigoro IKEDA, Yoshimasa's son, was ingorant, and Tadaka said to 'select Mochimasa IKEDA in Mito Domain', and therefore, they submitted an opinion to the upper stratum to adopt Kuromaro.
- そのため池田亀鑑などはこの伝承を「とりあげるに足りない奇怪な説」に過ぎないとして事実ではないとしているが、和辻哲郎は、「現在の源氏物語には読者が現在知られていない光源氏についての何らかの周知の物語が存在することを前提として初めて理解できる部分が存在する。」として「これはいきなり斥くべき説ではなかろうと思う」と述べている。
- Therefore, Kikan IKEDA considers the folklore to be an untruth, as 'a bizarre rumor that doesn't deserve to be taken seriously'; however, Tetsuro WATSUJI states, 'The Tale of Genji has mysterious parts that readers can't understand until they have noticed the existence of some other tales on Hikaru Genji, which the present readers don't know about but once existed,' adding, 'This is not a supposition that should be immediately rejected.'
- そのため、尊攘派であった権六郎は土倉一善(家老)・土肥隆平(番頭)・伊東与一郎(側児小姓頭)・江見鋭馬(弓 (武器)組士)らとともに独自に国事周旋方として京都に上洛して活動を始めたが、忠香は岡山藩主と連携して薩摩藩・長州藩を抑えて朝廷での主導権をとる目論見があったが思うようにいかないため「慶政を隠居させるように」と激怒したという。
- Therefore, Gonrokuro who belonged to the sonjo party went up to Kyoto and started activities uniquely as an official to procure the state affairs together with Ichizen TOKURA (senior retainer), Ryuhei DOI (head clerk), Yoichiro ITO (head of the servants), Eima EMI (archer), etc., but it is said that Tadaka was outraged and said to 'have Yoshimasa retire' because his scheme to grasp the initiative in the Imperial Court suppressing Satsuma and Choshu domains by linking with the lord of Okayama Domain did not work well as he planned.
- 中には「按するに、虎哥か此の論、孟子の性善良知の説を本とし、終に王陽明か心を師とするの論に帰着す」(加筆者訳:思うにグロチウスのこの論は孟子の性善説・良知の説を基礎として、 最終的には王陽明が説く心即理の説へと到達するものである。〔注:原文の片仮名は平仮名に変換〕)というように、グロチウスの自然法に関する説明は陽明学と同一視する部分すらある。
- This is a part of translator's note: original '按するに、虎哥か此の論、孟子の性善良知の説を本とし、終に王陽明か心を師とするの論に帰着す' (translation by Yasutsugu SHIGENO: the theory of Grotius has theories of Mencius as the ground such as the ethical doctrine that human nature is fundamentally good and human nature that is ability to judge good or bad and the theory finally achieves to the theory of Yangming WANG that considers mind itself is the law); as seen above, among the such notes, there is a part that explains the explanation about international law by Grotius seems the same as Yomei-gaku (neo-Confuciasnism based on teaching of Yangming WANG).
- 『十訓抄』7-27には、若い頃の清盛について「人がとんでもない不都合な振る舞いをしても、冗談と思うことにした」「やったことがちっともおかしくなくても、相手への労わりとしてにこやかに笑い、とんでもない誤りをしても、役立たずと声を荒げることはない」「冬の寒い時に身辺に奉仕する幼い従者を自分の衣の裾の方に寝かせ、彼らが朝寝坊をしていたらそっと床から抜け出して存分に寝かせてやった」「最下層の召使いでも、彼の家族や知り合いの見ている前では一人前の人物として扱ったので、その者は大変な面目と感じて心から喜んだ」という逸話が記されている。
- In 'Jukkinsho' Section 7-27, the young Kiyomori was described as a person who 'thought it was a joke if someone did something quite unreasonable,' 'gently smiled to be kind to someone who did something that was not funny at all, and also never raised his voice to scorn someone as being useless even when that person had made a terrible mistake', 'let young attendants who served him during a cold winter sleep at the bottom of his clothes and let them sleep well if they overslept, by quietly getting out of the bed,' and 'respected a servant of the lowest rank as a person in front of the servant's family or acquaintances, and that servant was truly pleased as it was a great honor.'
